Hey everyone!

If you’re reading this, congratulations! You’ve made it to Friday! And despite all the recent commotion that has been going on in the States throughout the past 24hrs, we hope you all are able to find some sort of grounding and find a way to enjoy the upcoming weekend!

However, today I’ve decided to feature a project that seeks to shed light on other abusive happenings, of sorts, that goes on behind the scene, usually outside of public eye.  Instead of trying to briefly summarize it here, let’s jump into today’s “KickStart Me!”

Abusive relationships have unfortunately become a very common thing this day in age, but at the same time, has begun to be brought to light – to bring awareness to the issue. This is exactly what today’s featured project seeks to do, to truly bring more awareness to the quite commonly issue of abusive relationships, that especially youth, are more and more commonly – finding themselves stuck in during this day in age.

Gone Dark is a short film which warns about abusive relationships and online predators. Created by the actress Nansi Nsue, and the creative director Charles H Joslain, Gone Dark seeks to bring awareness to these issues by sharing personal various stories from many individuals  who have been stuck in these sort of relationships.

.The current funding goal for “Gone Dark” is $4,670. With the film yet to be fully produced, many of the funds will go directly to the films production, however the biggest chunk of funds will be used towards promoting and advertising the film via the short film festival circuit.

The team behind the project has already begun their own KickStarter campaign and has been traveling to various locations to meet with civilians as well as foreigners to introduce the project. The campaign will be coming to a close on August 1st, so until then, the team will be hard at work spreading the word about the Kickstarter Project.

Finally, please KEEP IN MIND the main reason for this campaign & project: the stronger the following we create online, the likelier we are to achieve TRUE visibility; that is getting ‘Gone Dark’ projected in middle schools/high schools as an educational effort to warn teenagers of the dangers of online predators and abusive relationships.

The team has also put together a list of rewards for those who decide to pledge specific amounts to the project. You can check out some of the featured rewards, below.
