How’s it going everyone?! With many of us currently in the golden stages of Autumn right now, I picked out today’s KSMD with the incentive to encourage you all to take some time this week, and check out all the nature and wildlife that may be around you. As a person that has lived in the midwest all of my life, growing close to nature and the outdoors is almost second nature, and comes naturally to me (no pun intended.) With that said, let’s jump right into today’s feature!
Photographer Christian Paul based out of Murray, UT has a goal. A goal that could very well benefit us all, and help us open our eyes to the wildlife and nature around us, especially that of which is slowly diminishing.
By using his professional photography skills, he seeks capture, and create a historical record featuring the last remaining wilderness areas within North America. He states, “Man has destroyed most of the wild lands on our planet. The wilderness continues to shrink right before our eyes. I want to photograph the remaining wild places we have before they are gone. This is vitally important to all species on the planet as these are the last natural ecosystems that remain in a very fragile balance, which the scales could tip at any moment.”
He makes a crucial point, stating that all life is connected, and to loose these remaining lands, results in loosing connection to the natural world. It’s a very scary thing if you think about it.
The project has a steep goal of $20k, however I am positive that fellow nature preservers and all loves of the natural world alike, will help back this project, and I hope you will as well.
